Dear Member,
For our first newsletter for 2019, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a happy New Year and to thank you for your support for the past year. We look forward to working with you again for the coming year. The purpose of this newsletter is to provide you with information of our upcoming events being hosted by the Association for 2019. Please add all dates of events to your diary as your attendance is greatly appreciated and beneficial to the success of the Association.
London St Patricks Day Parade
This year, the Mayor of London’s 2019 St Patricks Day event will be a three day festival beginning on Friday the 15th of March and continuing on until Sunday the 17th of March where the highlight of the event will be the annual parade. The London Wexford Association would like to invite all our members, supporters and friends to come and join us in the parade to march proudly behind our Wexford banner. We will leave at 12 noon from Green Park and walk through to Trafalgar Square.
Annual Dinner Dance
The London Wexford Association will host their 65th annual dinner dance at The Clayton Crown Hotel in Cricklewood, NW2 3ED on Saturday the 27th of April 2019 commencing at 7.30pm with music by the fantastic Barry Owen Band. This event is promised as always to be a great occasion and maybe we will have a surprise celebrity in attendance on the night. Guests from Wexford Co Council will be in attendance.
We will again be producing a menu booklet and would like to invite any sponsors that would be interested to take out an advertisement. The cost for a full page is £50 and the cost for half a page is £30. Tickets for the dinner will be available to purchase shortly from President Michael Sills 07896184667 or Vice Chairman Paddy Doyle 07882098510 or any of the Committee member.
Mass for Deceased
Mass for the deceased members of the London Wexford Association and the Fr Murphy GAA Club London will be on Saturday the 29th of June at St Agnes Church, 35 Cricklewood Lane, NW2 1HR commencing at 6.30pm. We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to any members or friends who suffered bereavement during the year.
Annual Wexford Towns Reunion Buffet Dance
The London Wexford Association will hold their annual Wexford Towns Reunion Buffet Dance on Saturday the 26th of October 2019 at 8.30pm at The Mazenod Social Club, Quex Road, Kilburn, NW6 4LS. Tickets costing £15 will be available from the Committee closer to the event. Live music on the night with lots of banter and craic promised.
Annual Pensioners Christmas Party
The London Wexford Association will host their 8th Annual Pensioners Christmas Party at The Claddagh Ring in Hendon, London on Sunday 8th of December 2019 with sit down at 2pm. Live musical entertainment on the day.
Annual General Meeting for 2019
The London Wexford Association held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) at The Done Our Bit (D.O.B Club), 128 Maygrove Road, and Kilburn, in London on Monday the 7th of January 2019.The meeting was conducted under the Terms and Reference of the London Wexford Association constitution.
A great turnout on the night thanks to all in attendance. Thanks to all the outgoing officers who served the association so well, especially Phil Roche and Siobhan Talbott who done Trojan work for the Association down the years.
There were some changes to the Committee.

Sympathies
The Association would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of the late Life President Sean Diviney R.I.P, Honoury President Kathleen Walsh R.I.P, Life Vice President Carmel Ryan R.I.P, May Clegg R.I.P, Chairman Tommy Harrell R.I.P and Annie Ugorski R.I.P (Tommy Mernagh’s sister) or anyone who has suffered a recent bereavement. We would like to keep in our prayers all those who are sick especially our President Michael Sills, Cathy and Stephen Palmer or anyone who is going through a tough time at the moment we wish them a speedy recovery.
