‘One of life’s true gentleman’ tribute to Noel Swaine

The London Wexford Association and the larger Irish community were very saddened to hear of the passing of Noel Swaine a much loved husband of the late Helen that took place at his home on the 2nd of June 2015. Noel Swaine formely from Ballycarney, Ferns, Co Wexford who resided at Gladstone Park Gardens, Dollis Hill, NW2, London. Noel celebrated his 80th birthday in December 2014. He was Life Vice President of The London Wexford Association and a man who participated in all the activities within the association over the years. Being fundraising or social events Noel was always on hand to help out to a varied amount of charitable causes.

 

President Michael Sills Said ‘ Noel was a man of action always on the go and very generous with his time and efforts in all he did. He was such a loving caring person who would always enjoy the company of others and above all always his own man and a person not for turning. He was very proud of his Wexford roots and always proud to wear his Wexford badge’

 

Tommy Harrell Chairman of The London Wexford Association said ‘ Noel made a valuable contribution to the association during his time. He done great work within the Irish community in London over the years. Been in London since the 50’s he was of the old school of thought. His presence will be dearly missed ‘

Lucia Butler PRO of The London Wexford Association said ‘ I was tasked in taking over the role as PRO from Noel in 2012. Noel was an enthusiastic and witty man and always knew what he wanted.  He loved the limelight and always was proud to have his photograph taken. He was a very well respected colleague and friend to all in the association’.

 

We in the association shall miss him sorely for his contributions was immense. Our thoughts are with his Brothers Mervyn and Geoge and Sister Betty his Nieces, Nephews, family and friends to whom we send our condolences.

He will be greatly missed. May he Rest In Peace.
