It is with great sadness that The London Wexford Association announce the passing of their Chairman Tommy Harrell R.I.P on Friday the 14th od December 2018. Tommy was a native of Ballykelly, New Ross, Co Wexford
He spent a lot of his youth days playing hurling with New Ross Christian Brothers and also with his home club St Patricks club in Horeswood. Tommy came to London and soon started working as an Officer with Brent Council.

Tommy was a loving brother to Vera, and loving father to his son Martin and daughters Sinéad and Orla and Grandad to Oisin and Riona and father-in law to Angela whom he was extremely proud of her and her Dancing School.

Tommy served as Chairman of the association for the past seven years and also a life long pioneer. Tommy always had a smile for everyone and would be sure to bring laughter to many a conversation. In 2015 Tommy was honoured to be invited back to the St Patricks Day parade in New Ross to lead the parade as Grand Marshall.
He was a proud Wexford man always promoting links with Wexford and supporting great causes. Tommy would be well renowned in the organisation of the many concerts which were held at The Royal Albert Hall with money raised went to The Kenneddy Hall Building Fund.

Tommy was a long serving stalwart for Fr Murphys and London GAA. On arrival to London Tommy joined Fr Murphys Club both as a player and mentor. Tommy was a top free taker for Fr Murphys blessed with unerring accuracy and helped to promote hurling with a passion over the past six decades. In 1973 Tommy was instrumental in helping to set up the Fr Murphy Youth Club with fellow Wexfordian Phil Roche. Today the Fr Murphy Youth Hurling Club is going strong with his son Martin Harrell and other mentors keeping the flay flying.
Tommy served his time on the Fr Murphys board as Secretary for almost thirty years. For London GAA he started off as Assistant Secretary, then Secretary and Chairman for five years. He was a long time Liasing Officer with The London Hurling Team. In early December Tommy was re-elected as Oifgeach na Gaeilge in his absence.
